Drug Free America Foundation is proud to partner with the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) for National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week (NDAFW) taking place today, Monday March 21st and going through Sunday, March 27th. All week, we aim to educate youth about the science of drug use and addiction to empower them with knowledge so they can make healthy choices and SHATTER THE MYTHS® about drugs and alcohol that youth receive from social media, television, music, movies, friends, and other sources. Please join us on social media to share drug facts, videos, resources, and more using the following hashtag: #NDAFW.
Incorporate One Choice
NDAFW is about encouraging dialogue around the science of addiction and substance use among youth and the Institute for Behavior and Health’s One Choice prevention message is data-driven and youth-led. Incorporating the One Choice resources into NDAFW is a powerful combo! The One Choice prevention message is: No use of any alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, or other drugs by youth under age 21 for reasons of health. One Choice is centered on health based on three key facts:
  • The developing brain is uniquely vulnerable to substance use
  • For teens, all substance use is related
  • More than ever, young people are making One Choice
Get the free toolkit including social media graphics and One Choice facts here and use the hashtag, #OneChoice in social media posts.
