Drug Free America Foundation’s special distinction as a Non-Governmental Organization in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations allows DFAF to have a voice in global drug policy. As an NGO with ECOSOC Consultative Status, DFAF has the ability to organize, host, and participate in side events during the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND)  which is held annually in Vienna, Austria. This year is the 65th Session of the CND and took place Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18 with all events virtual due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

During this year’s CND, DFAF partnered with NGOs in the U.S., Turkey, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to host an event titled, “Drug Endangered Children: Identification and Program Success Stories.” Access the recording here and event flyer here.

DFAF also cosponsored events on recovery and reducing stigma with partners from the UK, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and another one on risks associated with cannabis commercialization with partners from Europe, Asia, Africa, and America.
