We are pleased to share an exciting opportunity to participate in the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) Civil Society Hearing 2025. The Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC) is now accepting applications from civil society representatives interested in speaking at this year’s event, focused on the theme: “Collaboration in International Drug Control.”
This hearing will take place online on Thursday, 22 May 2025, from 9:00 to 9:30 AM (CEST), during the 143rd session of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB).
Due to time and interpretation constraints, the meeting will be limited to 30 minutes, featuring up to six brief civil society interventions. Each selected speaker will have 3–4 minutes to share insights on their organization’s work and views related to the theme.
To ensure meaningful and diverse participation from around the world, the VNGOC will coordinate and select speakers based on submitted abstracts. We invite all interested NGOs to apply by submitting an abstract via the online form no later than Tuesday, 14 May 2025 at 23:45 CEST (Vienna time).
Important Details:
- Abstracts must be submitted in English and clearly address the hearing’s theme.
- Selected speakers will be notified on Friday, 16 May 2025 and asked to submit their final statements or pre-recorded video messages (with transcript) ahead of the hearing.
- In addition to oral presentations, NGOs are strongly encouraged to submit written contributions (maximum 2,000 words) on the theme. Please send these in Word or PDF format to info@vngoc.org by 20 May 2025.
