World Drug Day Event & Launch of the 2026 UNODC World Drug Report

The Chair of the 69th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) will host a special hybrid event on June 26, 2026, to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (World Drug Day) and officially launch the 2026 UNODC World Drug Report.
Event Theme: World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses
The event will bring together representatives from Member States, the United Nations system, civil society, and other stakeholders to discuss evolving drug-related challenges and share innovative, evidence-based responses. A key highlight will be the presentation of the 2026 World Drug Report, providing the latest analysis of global drug market trends, emerging challenges, and developments shaping international drug policy.
The Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC) has been invited to nominate up to three civil society speakers to deliver brief interventions (maximum 2 minutes) during the event.
Submit an application and abstract relevant to the event theme by Monday, 15 June at 11:45 p.m. Vienna time (CEST).
