The 69th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) is fast approaching, and we are now entering the final phase of preparations.

As a reminder, the Global Task Force serves as a coordinated civil society voice at CND. Your preparation and engagement help ensure that our collective presence is professional, unified, and impactful.

Organizations and individuals wishing to participate must register by 5 March 2026.

If you are hosting or co-sponsoring a side event, please remember that all side event organizers are responsible for preparing and printing speaker nameplates.

Side Events & Exhibitions

Side events at the CND provide an important platform for NGOs, experts, and governments to highlight emerging issues, share best practices, and strengthen international collaboration.

The official programs are now available:

NGO Oral Interventions

NGOs in consultative status that are registered for the 69th session may request the opportunity to deliver an oral statement under relevant agenda items.

To support broad and coordinated NGO participation, the UNODC Secretariat has asked the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC), in cooperation with the UNODC Civil Society Unit, to organize speaking requests.

To request a speaking slot, NGOs must email:

Requests must include:

  • Name of the NGO

  • Name of the designated speaker

  • Relevant agenda item

Plenary meeting times are limited (10:00–13:00 and 15:00–18:00). NGOs are encouraged to carefully consider requesting multiple agenda items to ensure space for diverse civil society voices.

Special Events to Note During CND:

  • NGO Briefing, Monday, 9 March at 9-9:45 AM CET, Room M-3 & online
  • VNGOC Annual General Meeting, Wednesday, 11 March at 13:30 – 16:30, Room CR-3 & online
  • Informal Civil Society Dialogues, Thursday, 12 March: Civil society participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with key UN drug policy leaders through a series of informal dialogues including:
      • Dialogue with the CND Chair

      • Dialogue with the Acting UNODC Executive Director
        🕚 11:15–12:15 CET
