David Evans, executive director of Drug Free Schools Coalition, speaks out on Fox and Friends about medi-pot being administered at teaching hospitals throughout New Jersey, a proposal currently being considered by the state legislature. Although Evans agrees this would be better than approving pot shops similar to those scattered throughout California, he is skeptical about the efficacy of smoked marijuana as a medicine, as well as the legal ramifications of dispensing a drug that has not been proven safe by the FDA.
Drug Legalization Advocate Ignores Connection to Child Abuse
In a recent appearance on the O'Reilly show, a representative from a drug legalization organization refused to acknowledge that drug use by parents and caregivers can result in child abuse and neglect, despite the host's citing statistics proving otherwise. His insistence that alcohol was to blame for the fact that over seventy percent of child abuse and neglect is related to substance abuse flies in the face of the many stories of children who have suffered at the hands of drug-addicted parents.
Bishop Ron Allen on Fox and Friends
Recently on Fox and Friends, Bishop Ron Allen, head of the International Faith Based Coalition, opposed the California ballot initiative to tax and regulate marijuana. He reminded viewers that California has spent more than 19 billion on healthcare costs and raised a mere 1.4 billion on tobacco and alcohol taxes, reiterating that the state has seen and paid for the devastating effects of alcohol and tobacco, and if marijuana is legalized, California will pay for its harmful effects as well.
Broadcast Yourself Getting High?
YouTube is being used by researchers not only for watching videos of puppies falling asleep or otters holding hands but also for studying the effects of a seriously potent drug. Users have been posting videos of themselves getting high on Salvia Divinorum, and it's not a pretty sight, according to the PhD candidate at San Diego State University whose research consisted of watching those videos to study the effects of the drug.

In your observance of Earth Day, consider the effect the demand for drugs has on our environment and our nation's most irreplaceable asset - our national parks. Mexican drug gangs have been growing marijuana in our parks on a much larger scale than in the past. Experts estimate that 75 to 90 percent of new farms are run by the gangs which employ trip wires, explosives and guards with AK-47s in national parks such as Yosemite, Sequoia and Redwood.
Tax and Regulate, Then Pay the Price
California voters will see marijuana legalization on November's ballot. The signature count for a ballot measure that would allow anyone 21 or older to possess, cultivate and transport up to an ounce of marijuana has been verified by the Secretary of State. The proposition would also allow up to 25 square feet per residence per person for marijuana grows and let local governments regulate and tax the sale of marijuana.
