(St. Petersburg, FL) – STAND (Students Taking Action Not Drugs), a division of Drug Free America Foundation, Inc., launched its new virtual anti-drug campaign for high school and college students this week. STAND uses an innovative online approach to reach schools and other student led organizations who are interested in advocating for healthy lifestyle choices.

“STAND’s campaign – which is free – appeals to high school and college students by relaying drug information they can understand within their own cultural context,” said Calvina Fay, executive director of Drug Free America Foundation. “The appeal of the STAND website is its ever-shifting creativity that prevents the STAND brand from getting stale.”

These campaigns include posters, stickers, postcards and other materials that can be personalized and easily integrated within a school’s own peer or health education program, or it can be implemented within a student-run club. Another new feature that has been added to the STAND site is a mobile compatibility so phone web browsers will be able to access it with ease. Links to popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter have also been added.

“This approach will allow students to access campaigns about the hazards associated with alcohol and drugs and choose which thematic material they feel is needed on their campuses. It also provides support and opportunities for student advocacy surrounding this very important health issue,” concluded Fay.
