Red Ribbon Week 2012

Red Ribbon week is an awareness campaign observed annually the last full week in October. It is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the country promoting a community commitment to drug prevention and education as well as a personal commitment to live drug free.

Red Ribbon Week commemorates DEA Special Agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, who died at the hands of drug traffickers in Mexico while fighting the battle against illegal drugs to keep our country and children safe.
Starting October 22th, schools across the nation will host events throughout the week aimed at drug prevention and drug education.
We encourage you to take advantage of these events and use this week as an opportunity to speak to a child in your life and reiterate the message of Red Ribbon Week; No Use of Illegal Drugs, No Illegal Use of Legal Drugs.
Please support Red Ribbon activities in your community. Educate kids so that they can make healthy choices and be positive role models to their peers.
